Bipolar II

Bipolar II disorder is the milder form of bipolar and is defined by an individual having one or more occurrences of depression with at least one hypomanic episode during their lifetime. Unlike Bipolar I, Bipolar II does not include severe manic periods, and the hypomanic episodes can be quite pleasant.

Typically these symptoms do not interfere too badly with work and individuals with the disorder can carry about their normal lives, although their behavior will still seem slightly abnormal to others. Unlike Bipolar I, which is treated with medications, Bipolar II can usually be safely treated with supplements such as fish oil or therapy to increase self-awareness and control.
